C2 Modem: Cutting Ties with Qualcomm
One of the architectural highlights is the transition to the C2 5G modem—Apple’s second-generation in-house modem, completely replacing Qualcomm chips across the entire lineup. This move is expected to drastically improve network stability, signal strength, data speeds, and overall battery efficiency on 5G connections.
There are also reports pointing to full satellite internet support—moving beyond today’s emergency-only text features to allow total satellite internet access anywhere in the world.
Camera: Variable Aperture is the Next Big Thing

The main reasons to hold out are the 2nm A20 chip, the massive battery capacity, next-gen Siri, and variable aperture camera mechanics.
